So the other side of the campsite. Those rules or guidelines we all follow. Well of course there is always a few who can’t seem to just be respectful. Luckily it isn’t often or abundant. Though you encounter it, my every thought heads straight to “really” and “honestly”. It’s not hard. respect your neighbor and we will respect you. Or, get control of your kids, they are not wild animals. You did not come to the forest to just release them. Of course sometimes it’s the adults. Our “most memorable” was a large group that came in and took over 3 sites with no less than 30 people. Seriously, it was insane. They proceeded to put all the children in one motorhome and we had karaoke blaring across from us at two in the morning.

Like I said it’s not often but it does drive a person crazy at times when they just want to chill out.

Please don’t continuously cross our site when there is plenty of room to go around. Please watch where you park your vehicles and even more importantly where your guests park vehicles. Keep your kids at least semi wrangled. These are all just common curtesy things really. That goes for howling at the moon at all hours of the night too. Campgrounds have quiet hours for a reason. Honestly, we have been loud at ten but not after midnight. That’s for the clubs and bars. Simple things can make everything and every experience so much different, so much better.

The other part of the campsite.

When you leave…..Leave it better than you found it. Ninety nine percent of people really are pretty good about cleanup. You know, make sure the fire is under control. Make sure the trash is picked up. Do your best to make sure you have everything. We walk sites after they have been emptied off. We collect all kinds of stuff. The sad part is, some is trash. The good part for us, is unfortunately someone else’s loss. You left something behind. I’m talking mats, firewood (usually intentional), hoses, dog lines. You never know. It’s just good practice to take one last walk around right before you pull out. As much as anything, you are making sure your rig is ready to roll. Doors are locked. Blocks and items are all picked up and the rest of the site is ready for the next family to arrive.
